Our Book

Keeping It Kiwi

Private Walks Book

Our book is well underway. We hope it will inspire walkers at all levels to take their first step towards undertaking a private walk. The book offers insights into each of the 20+ tracks and is also used as a companion guide.

Our book is unique, high quality and kiwi-made. We 'walk the talk' too, as we have hiked all the tracks ourselves. We are keeping it kiwi with all the writing, designing, and publishing done locally and printing done in Canterbury.

Making It Real

Our book, like this video, has a rich storytelling element beyond that of a standard travel guide. Behind each walk are country people who share their personal journeys and passion, bringing their walks to life.

This is demonstrated in the video by Tom O'Brien, a multi-generational landowner at Welcome Rock Trails who hand-built his multi-day walk and ride to share with others. Watch his short story and be inspired.

At the start of each chapter in the book, the track providers share in their own words their passion for the land and their venture's development. They welcome readers to their environments.

Get Inspired

Our book strives to be a vibrant inspiration. We achieve this  by providing the best quality printed maps, photographs and illustrations as well as clear text with clean layout and design.
